FSSC 22000 Actively Pushing to Extend Scope to Manufacture of Animal Feed(Time:2014-04-23 17:19:00)

FSSC 22000 has finalized the extension of the scheme scope to cover animal feed with PAS 222 (Prerequisite Program for the Manufacture of Food and Feed for Animals). Publication is expected soon. A number of additional requirements and clarifications will be added to the scheme in order to meet ISO and GFSI requirements. This extension of the scope is already accepted by the accreditation bodies and CBs will be advised on how to become licensed.
In line with the GFSI objective to extend its scope to cover all sectors of the supply chain, FSSC 22000 is ready to add new scopes the moment the necessary technical specifications for sector PRPs are available and organizations in the international food sectors request FSSC 22000 certification to cover these sectors. At the moment FSSC 22000 is considering the extension of its scope to cover animal farming (category ISO 22003 AI)
