FSSC 22000：Update PRP Storage and Distribution(Time:2016-12-07 10:53:05)

      A new Prerequisite Program (PRP) standard (NEN-NTA 8059) on food safety for storage and distribution is nearing its completion prior to publication early 2017. Based on the NEN-NTA 8059 PRP standard, FSSC 22000 intends to expand its scope with adding Storage and Distribution certification for organizations active in the areas of road, rail, water and air transport and storage.
 
      28 November 2016, the FSSC 22000 led international, multi stakeholder working group evaluated the comments that were received after a 30-day public consultation on the final draft. Also the outcome of pilot audits that were conducted in Europe, USA and Asia, have been incorporated in the final document. A lot of useful comments were provided, that helped the working group to make the PRP requirements more clear and better auditable. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this valuable process.
 
       It is expected that the final version of the document will be published in the first half of January 2017. It will be online and accessible to download for free.
